Emma died of diphtheria in the Fall of 1888 at her home on Summer Avenue corner of Halleck Street in the North Ward of Newark, NJ, what was called Woodside Section at the time. She was less than a month shy of her 10th birthday and her twin Ellen Clarissa lived a long life. Emma is the first new name in 112 years to be added to the list of known interments in the Coeyman Family Cemetery. This information was obtained from the NJ State Archives in a certified copy of Emma's death certificate.
