James L. Weaver, Mohnton businessman, dropped dead shortly after 9 o'clock Thursday evening on Church street, that borough. His death is attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Weaver, whose age was 63 years 3 months and 23 days, was a victim of a similar attack more than a week ago. As was his custom, he closed his grocery store on Wyomissing avenue, Mohnton, formerly conducted by J. Y. Weidner, at 9 p.m. and started for his home. When he arrived near the restaurant of William Ruth, on Church street, he dropped over. Mr. Ruth, as he was about to go to his garage, found the man, apparently dead. He summoned Dr. M. L. Miller, who pronounced the grocer dead. The body was removed to the home of a son-in-law, Harry B. Marks, with whom he resided, on Summit street, Mohnton. Coroner Rorke, of this city, after a short investigation, issued a certificate of death due to natural causes.
Mr. Weaver was born in Lancaster county and was a son of Isaac and Sophia (nee Lutz) Weaver. He was a member of Zion's United Evangelical Church and Sunday School, of Mohnton, and Lodge No. 4 & 5, Knights of Pythias, of the same borough.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harry B. Marks, with whome he resided, and the following brothers and sisters: Abraham, of Naperville, Isaac, of this city; Mrs. George Keiber and Mrs. Clayton Killian, both of Naperville, and Mrs. Sophia Snyder, of Reading.
Funeral, Tuesday, at 9:30 at the house. Further services at Zion's U. E. Church, Mohnton, in charge of Rev. S. Neitz Dissinger. Interment will be made in Cedar Grove cemetery, Adamstown, by Undertaker Kindt, of Mohnton.
