Church, 371 Delaware Ave., Buffalo,

Richard W. Cutting of Buffalo, a certified public accountant, died Feb. 14 in Canterbury Woods in Williamsville from complications due to cancer. He was 83.
Born in Buffalo, he graduated from Nichols School in 1949 and earned a bachelor of science degree in biology and chemistry from Amherst College. He received his MBA in accounting from Columbia University Business School.He served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1955.Mr. Cutting worked in various positions in New York City, including as a CPA and consultant at Price Waterhouse; founder of EDP Printing & Systems; and certified public accountant and partner at Main Lafrentz & Co. from 1968 to 1972.In 1972, Mr. Cutting returned to Buffalo to accept a position at Ernst & Young LLP as managing partner. He retired in 1989.He was a board member and treasurer of various community organizations, including the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Episcopal Diocese of Buffalo, YMCA Buffalo Niagara, Children’s Foundation, Buffalo Prep and the Bristol Home.He belonged to Saturn Club, Buffalo Tennis & Squash Club and Cherry Hill Golf Club. His hobbies included golf, tennis and fishing.Survivors include his wife of 43 years, the former Elaine Duff; and a sister, Elizabeth C. Brown.A service of remembrance and thanksgiving will be held at 10:30 a.m. March 7 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 371 Delaware Ave.
