The 1880 Census has John W.25 y/o, Amanda,21 y/o and one month old daughter, Maggie, living on Upper Street in Lexington, Fayette County Kentucky. His occupation was "Printer" and she was "Keeping House".
The Census of 1900 still has them in Lexington Kentucky, now renting on North Livingston Ave. There are 2 children living at that time, Herbert and Rayon (most likely Herbert Powell). Their daughter, Maggie, is not listed and there apparently was another child born to them that did not survive. (shows 4 children born with 2 surviving). Johns occupation is still a printer and Amanda is now a "sales woman".
In 1920 Amanda B. and John are living in Louisville with their grandson Herbert R. Cox who is 3 years old.
