Funeral services for Alden Lee Cox, 70, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. He died Saturday Jan. 5, 2008, at his home.
He was born Oct. 11, 1937, to Everett and Thelma (Kantlehner) Cox in Charlestown. He was an Air Force veteran, graduated from the University of Louisville with a B.S. degree, a retired engineer for the old ICI, a member of the Hosta Society, Day Lilies Society, and the Charlestown Alumni Association Class of 1956.
Survivors include two brothers, Donald E. Cox and wife, Kathy, Otisco and Steven R. Cox, Jeffersonville; two sisters, Joyce A. Brown and Judy E. Thomas and husband, Joe, Louisville; and stepsons, John Thieman, Louisville and Thomas Thieman, Jeffersonville.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Thieman Cox.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 and after 9 a.m. on Thursday.
Expression of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Charlestown Alumni Association, P.O. Box 126, Charlestown, IN 47111.
