Charles James (Jim) Clark, 68, of Denton, passed away at his home on July 18, 2016 in Denton, Texas. He was born on November 3, 1947 in Goose Creek, Texas, to Charlie and Olive Mae (Lowry) Clark.
Raised in Channelview and Fort Worth, Texas, he studied at the University of Texas in Arlington. Jim was a long-time engineer with Extra Hazard Fire Protection. His life and work took him to such diverse places as Nigeria, New York City, Ecuador, New Iberia, Louisiana and Mexico.
Jim was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, PC (USA) in Denton, the Noon Rotary Club and the Citizen Police Academy of Denton. His interests included trapshooting, fishing, photography, and all things related to the Corvette automobile.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife of fifteen years, Pat Cheek, sister, Linda Smith (Gary) of Burleson, brother, Mike Clark (Catherine) of Arlington, son, Charles James Clark (Melisa) of Haltom City, grandsons, Jacob and Jonathan, stepchildren, Diana Dunklau (Paul), Dawn Pryor, Bill Cheek Jr. (Jenn), Joel Cheek (Heather), step-grandchildren, Amanda Servis, Devin Servis, Tate Servis, Trannon Cheek, Mallory Cheek, Casie Cheek, Callie (Nick) Mazzagatti, Greyson Pryor, Nicholas Cheek, Ryan Cheek, and great-grandson, Noah Gillespie.
