Lora May Allen Chapman, 53, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2011.

Lora May was born on March 6, 1958 in Harlingen and was the oldest daughter of James and Patricia Allen. She was a lifelong resident of Harlingen and graduated from Harlingen High School in 1976.

After high school she briefly attended TSTI in Waco and Texas A&I in Kingsville; but returned to the Valley to continue her education. She worked for many years at Budget Rent-A-Car both in Brownsville and Harlingen.
In 1985 she married her best friend Jack Chapman and together they had four beautiful children. Lora loved crafts and cooking.

Lora is survived by her husband of 25 years. Jack; daughters, Ashley, Katie, and Tessa: son, Chance; parents, James and Patricia of Harlingen; sister, Peggy (Raymond) Solis of Houston; and nieces, Katrina, Kasey, and Karlee; brother, Roberty (Emily) of Llano; nephews, James and Dustin; sister, Bobbie Lapeyre of Ranco Viejo and nephews Louie and Chris and niece, Michelle; brother, Scott (Jennifer) of La Feria and nieces Jennifer, Jessica, and Taylor and nephew, Jason; and brother, Kevin of Harlingen; uncles, Arthur (Dorothy) Allen of Harlingen, Bert (Debbie) Allen of Harlingen, and Chris (Geri) Allen of San Benito; cousins and 2nd cousins too numerous to mention.

Visitation hours will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the family present to receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Heavenly Grace Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 3, 2011 at 10:00 am in Heavenly Grace Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Mann officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
