Vernelle Medicine Crow, 66, of Hardin passed away Oct. 11, 2015.
 
Pretty Woman, a Crow name given to her by Marcia Morrison, was born March 4, 1949 in Crow Agency, a daughter of Gloria Morrison and Joseph Medicine Crow. She was a descendent of Chief Medicine Crow and Pierre DeShane. She grew up in Lodge Grass, graduating in 1967. She later attended the Haskell Institute and Kansas University, studying business.  She worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Crow Tribe and for the Indian Health Service.
 
Vernelle loved to read and make jewelry. She was a member of the Piegan Clan and was a Whistling Water child.
 
Her mother preceded Vernelle in death.
 
Survivors include her father; her sons Chris and David Wesley; sisters Garnet (Sterling) Watan and Diane (Dave) Reynolds; her brother Ronnie (Clarice) Medicine Crow; two grandchildren; aunts Mary Carpenter, Louella Johnson, Caroline Mountainsheep; as well as her extended family including the Medicine Crow, Yellowtail, Mountainsheep, Morrison, Old Coyote, Old Horn, Whitemanrunshim, Pretty on Top, Not Afraid, Bends, Hugs, Iron, Williamson, Yarlott, DeCrane, Goes Ahead, Bull Chief, Carpenter, Little Nest, Other Medicine, Pretty Paint, One Goose, Moccasin, Real Bird, Takes the Gun, Stewart, Covers Up, Alden, Humphrey and Bear Cloud families.
 
Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Crow Agency Spirit of Life Foursquare Church. Interment followed in the Lodge Grass Cemetery. Bullis Mortuary was entrusted with arrangements.
