Mrs. Fern H. Metzger, 57, of 1 Park avenue, Lafayette, died at Billing hospital, Indianapolis, at 9:30 a. m. Saturday.

Born in Caneadea, N. Y., she married Dr. E. O. Metzger in 1938, and was a member of First Christian church of Lafayette and Eastern Star of Mulberry. A graduate of Millard Filmore hospital, Buffalo, N. Y., she served as a nurse in World War I.

Surviving besides the husband are a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Buhler of Genoa, Ill.; three sisters: Mrs. Iva Tillou of St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Grace Leonard of Saranac Lake, N. Y., and Miss Lura McCutcheon of Long Island, N. Y.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Glendora Schunick of St. Petersburg, Fla., and two grandchildren.

Services were held at the Rogers & Henderson funeral home in Lafayette on Tuesday at 1 p. m., with Rev. F. Elwynn Pearce officiating. The body was taken to the High funeral home at Cincinnati, where Eastern Star services were held at 10 o'clock the following day. Interment was at Rest Haven cemetery, Cincinnati.

Mrs. Metzger lived in Mulberry for a number of years, where she was active in clubs and social affairs.
