He was the son of Walton and Rhesa Huestis.
He was born in Ticonderoga and grew up in Chestertown. After graduation from Chestertown High School, he attended and graduated from C.W. Post College.
He had many interests, including golf, skiing and spending time on his boat in Lake George as well as in Florida.
He was predeceased by his wife of more than 40 years, who was the love of his life, Barbara A. Huestis. Throughout the final years of his wife's illness, he was her primary caregiver. He was also predeceased by his brother, Bob Huestis of Willsboro.
He is survived by his son and his wife of Saratoga Springs and their children, and by his daughter of Cazenovia.
A celebration of his life was held at the McGregor Links Country Club, 359 Northern Pines Road, Wilton, NY
There was a celebration of life for him at 2405 Isle of Palm Drive, Venice Florida. He was formerly a resident of Island Walk on Jalisca and Solarzano. All that knew him as a compassionate kind man with a heart of gold are welcome to come honor his life. His untimely passing was a shock to all who loved him dearly.
