Katherine M. Margherio, 93, of Ford City, formerly of Leechburg, died at 4:30 p.m. Friday (July 12, 2002) in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin.

Born Feb. 12, 1909, in Lusiglie, Torino, Italy, she lived in Leechburg for 40 years before moving to the Golden Heritage Personal Care Home in Ford City 10 years ago.

Prior to retiring in 1974, she worked for 25 years as a utility person at the Schenley plant of the Joseph S. Finch Co.

Miss Margherio was a member of Christ the King Parish, the former St. Catherine Guild, Marconi Lodge Auxiliary, and Senior Citizens Center, all in Leechburg.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna Demarie Margherio; three brothers, William P. Margherio in 1991, Martin J. Margherio in 1990 and George R. Margherio in 1992; and two sisters, Letitia C. Margherio in 1985 and Theresa Tarella in 1994.

At the request of Miss Margherio, there will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend her Christian Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday in Christ the King Parish, Leecburg. Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, Gilpin.
