Wilbur Harrison (Jake) Jacobs age 96 of Lenoir City passed away peacefully June 9, 2016. He was a proud W. W. II veteran having served in the United States Navy. Jake was a former president of the Knox County and East TN Gospel Singing Convention, and truly enjoyed singing in gospel quartets. He was retired from T.V.A. where he worked as a lineman. Jake was a member of the Lenoir City Seventh Day Adventist Church and enjoyed singing with the church at Baptist Health Care Center.

Jake enjoyed exercising at Fort Loudoun Cardiac Rehab and eating lunch at Fort Loudoun Medical Center with the Senior Meal Program. He loved watching U. T. sports, the Braves, family vacations to Myrtle Beach, fishing, hugs, drives to Cades Cove, and weekly dinners with all his family. He was an incredible man with an infectious personality and smile. Everyone who met him, loved him.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jane Jacobs; granddaughters, Christy Hatchett (Ben), Melissa Johnson (Michael), and Beth Hilbelink (Scott); five great-grandchildren, Tiffany Hatchett, Ashley, Dustin, and Heather Hilbelink, and Abbie Johnson. His grand kids and great grand kids loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Anna Mae (Polly) Jacobs; parents, John Isaac and Martha Lou Viney Jacobs; his 7 brothers and 3 sisters.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 12th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor David Brass officiating. Burial will follow in the Lenoir City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers: Steve Nix, Andy Nix, Scott Hilbelink, Michael Johnson, Ben Hatchett, and Clifton Posey.

Military honors will be conferred by the Loudon Co. Veterans Honor Guard.
