Hercules, originally named Rex, was given to my grandmother by an elderly lady who couldn't keep him. He was so skinny at the time that I thought the name Hercules would be funny. Mom and I took him home and he was the best cat!
Hercules would come when he was called and would jump into your arms from the floor. He was very mellow and got along with other animals, unless someone was after "his" dogs. He would attack any dog that came after them.
All these years later, I still miss him.
