Asa Benton Allen, passed away, peacefully, Feb 4, 2013 in south Florida. Asa was a gentleman, entrepreneur, avid outdoorsman, beloved father and friend. He was the son of former Louisiana Governor and Senator Elect Oscar Kelly and Florence Allen.

Asa is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joan, his three children; Asa, Jr., Nancy, and Scott; and three grandchildren Charles, Caroline, and Elizabeth. Asa also leaves behind daughter-in-laws Laura and Terre, and numerous extended family and friends.

Asa was a World War II veteran, graduate of Culver Military Academy and Boston University. He was an long standing member of Dedham Country and Polo Club, Eastward Ho! Country Club, Key Largo Angler's Club, Ocean Reef Club, and Card Sound Golf Club.

Asa was a national champion skeet shooter, avid bridge player, and accomplished fly fisherman who enjoyed sporting activities world-wide. A memorial service is planned. Donations should be made to the Ocean Reef Medical Center in lieu of flowers.
