NEWPORT NEWS - James Kenneth Adams, 79, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. He was a native of Batavia, New York and a resident of Newport News, Virginia for 44 years. James worked as a Warehouse Manager for Busch Gardens for 20 years, and retired from US Air Force as a Tech Sargent after 20 years of service. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church of Yorktown, Denbigh Lions Club for 25 years, Cart Master for Anheuser-Busch Golf Classic 10 years, Boy Scout Master, Troop 98 for 6 years, and served on the Board of Directors for 3 years. James was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Vera Adams. Survivors include his wife, Carol Adams; two daughters, Cathleen Adams Ketterman and husband, Homer, Terri Adams; three sons, Stephen Adams, Bradley Adams and wife, Deborah, Kevin Adams; two brothers, George Adams and wife, Gail, Merle Adams; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 23, 2016 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. A service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, at 10 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church in Yorktown, officiated by Rev. Connie Jones, with the burial to follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Denbigh Lion's Club.
