On Tuesday morning, March 14, funeral services were held at the Plainfield Methodist Church for Mrs. Cornelius Abbott, Plainfield, who died Saturday morning in the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis following several days illness from penumonia. Rev. E. Duane Thistlewaite conducted the service. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis.
Survivors of Mrs. Abbott are the husband, who is Director of Education at the Indiana Boys' School, Plainfield; a son, James; a daughter, Miss Martha Ann; a brother, Ralph Chambers of Indianapolis; and three sisters, Mrs. Frances Headley of Warsaw, Mrs. R. C. Hawthorne of Lafayette, and Mrs. Mary E. Chapelle of Rochester, New York.
Mrs. Abbott, who was Miss Lillian Chambers before her marriage in 1914 to Cornelius Abbott, was born in Pendleton, Indiana. She was graduated from Pendleton High School and attended Oxford College. She was a member of the Women's Club of Laporte, Indiana, their home before coming to Plainfield about four years ago. Mrs. Abbott was a member of the Plainfield Methodist Church and of the Women's Club of Plainfield.
