Franklin Roosevelt “Pops” Carpenter, former compressor mechanic for Texas Oil and Gas and ministock racer at C.C. Speedway, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the age of 75.

He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Betty; one daughter Patti Ann Neville; four sons Frank, Jr., Steven (Sarah), R. Scott (Becky) all of Corpus Christi and David of Los Angeles, California; one sister Patsy Schmedt of Mathis; one brother Robert Lee Carpenter of Beeville; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2009 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 2233 Waldron Rd. in Flour Bluff. A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. prior to the mass.
