Great-Great-Grandchildren; Cashiana Noack, Gavin Noack, Keithan Watkins, Peyton Schiffner and numerous nieces and nephews.

Evelyn grew up in Woodsboro, Texas, with her family moving to San Marcos, Texas at the age of 15. She went to school at San Marcos High School, from 1939 to 1942, serving as a
Cheerleader/Majorette for the Rattlers, being elected as Head Cheerleader her senior year. She excelled in Academics, and was a member of the National Honor Society. In the 6th grade, she received the American Legion Award for outstanding scholarship and citizenship. She served 2 terms on the student council of San Marcos High School. It was there that she met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Harry Lloyd Storey, whom she married in September 1942. Evelyn and Harry had four children, Harry Walton, Terry, Tim and Bill. Her first born child was born with severe congenital defects, with his case being one of the six original children being used in medical studies, which led to the Rubella Vaccine for all future babies. Evelyn lived an exciting, but difficult life of a military wife, for the majority of this union, living in many different states, as well as in France, as Harry served our country as a US Air Force Fighter Pilot, until his death in January 1966.

Evelyn was an accomplished Bookkeeper and Typist during her career. She was multi-talented and gifted in so many areas of her life, one being able to play the piano without being musically trained. She entertained her family continually playing her beloved organ-piano, as well as her Harmonica, and loved nothing more than to have her family standing around her singing, as she played.

During Evelyn’s earlier years, she was an excellent bowler, playing and successfully competing in league bowling. She climbed trees as well as any man, as she sat in deer stands to hunt. No one could beat her at Yo-Yoing. Evelyn won her hometown Yo-Yo competition in her youth, even though she was the only female competing.

Evelyn had a true zest for life, loving to cook and entertain family and friends in her home. Her personality was filled with vim and vigor, and you always knew where you stood with her. She fiercely loved and supported her family. She lived her life protecting and caring for all those she loved, taking in many different relatives, over her lifetime, who were facing difficulties, to live with her family, helping them get back on their feet. Even during her meager times, she never gave a second thought, as to her not being able to help others. “Impossible” was not in her vocabulary. She not only took care of her severely handicapped child at home for his entire 30 years of life, but she also took care of both her parents in her home, until both their deaths. Evelyn had a heart of gold for others in need.

May 20, 1967, Evelyn married her true soulmate, and her past job Boss, Roy T. Noack, Sr. in Pasadena, Texas, where they lived until moving to their beloved town of Rockdale, Texas in August of 1977. Evelyn and Roy loved entertaining and socializing with their many friends in Rockdale, and the Rockdale Country Club, also enjoying golfing together before their health declined. During her prime years, Evelyn loved dancing with both her husbands.

Even during retirement, Evelyn worked once again for Roy, as his Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant for his homebuilding business in Rockdale. She was far ahead of her time, in using and continually learning about electronic technology, until her health no longer allowed. She could determine, use and order computer components better than many in the younger generations, many times instructing others in the use of computers.

Evelyn loved collecting her favorite things, including cookbooks and recipes, Wild Turkey Decanters, crystal serving dishes, bone china tea cup sets, pewter serving dishes, Christmas decorative pieces, VHS movies, which she cataloged, and music recordings. She also enjoyed as hobbies, Photography and playing Bridge. Until her health no longer allowed it, she loved her times socializing and playing Canasta and Bridge with her five friends, of whom the six of them were also known as the “Sexy Six-pack”. She traveled together with these ladies on many fun trips to various places.

Evelyn had a full and happy life, filled with many adversities as well as many more joys. Her life lost a lot of her zeal for it, when she lost her sweetheart and love, Roy, in January 2014. It was after Roy’s passing that Evelyn’s health began to take a sudden decline, which she was unable to recover from. She was a true Matriarch of her family, always offering her wisdom to them during times of need. She will be greatly missed by all, but we rejoice in the fact that our precious mother and grandmother is now without pain and suffering, in the arms of our Heavenly Father, once again reunited with both her loves, her son, her parents, fur-baby, Buffy and other family and friends in Heaven.

Evelyn was of the Methodist faith, and a long time member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale, Texas. Services are scheduled for 4:00 PM Saturday, March 26, 2016 at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale, Texas. Burial will follow the service at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Pastor Adam Straznicky will officiate. Visitation is 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, March 25, 2016 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
