Desi was the beloved Ferret "Son" of findagrave contributor Frank Russo. Desi was "rescued" from a pet store in North Brunswick, New Jersey where he had spent the majority of his life in a plexiglass cage. The people at the pet store told us that Desi was a "girl" so we originally named him Desiree. It was not until we took him to the vet for a check-up that we learned that Desi was a "he". Thankfully the name Desi still worked.

Desi was a beautiful soul and great individual who lived a happy, well loved life! On the ride home from the pet store when I first rescued him, he was so excited to be leaving that he began bouncing around and chortling in his cage. He immediately got along with his new brothers and sisters, and began playing and running with them when he was introduced to them. Desi was a very happy fur baby, who was a particular favorite of my wife Joanne. She spoiled and nurtured him and showed him a lot of attention because of the fact that there was not a lot of love and affection in his life until we brought him home, so it was as if we were making up for lost time. Desi truly was a Happy-go-lucky Soul who touched everyone that he met. He was a big ball of "fluff" and "mischief" who got the most out of his playtime.

Desi passed away suddenly on the night of October 20, 2014. He crawled into one of his play tubes and crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. The veterinarian could not come to any conclusion as to why he passed away so suddenly at such a young age. For whatever reason, God chose to take him from us at the age of 13 months. Although we had him for only a short time, it warms our hearts to know that we filled his short life with "overflowing love and affection". Like all of our "Furbabies" who have crossed over, Desi will be missed every day of our lives. I take solace in knowing that we will all one day be together.

We Love You Little Desi.
