Swedish prince. His Swedish name was Valdemar Magnusson. He was Prince of Sweden and Duke of Finland, Upland and Eyland, belonging to the Bielbo Dynasty as a son of King Magnus III Barnlock and Queen Haelwig. He rebelled with his brother Duke Eric against their brother King Birger, so that the two rebels were locked up to die in a castle tower. In 1302 he married a daughter of former regent Thurchetel Canutesson, only to divorce her three years later, not long before her father was executed. His second wife and widow Ingiburga, originally a Princess of Norway and first cousin of Duchess Ingiburga of Sweden, went on as active Duchess of Eyland until her death.
