Funeral service for Grover Lafayette (Fayette) Williams, 67, of 20 South Main, was held Tuesday morning of last week in the chapel of the Humphrey Funeral home. Burial will be in the Tannehill cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral home. Williams died suddenly after suffering a heart attack Monday evening of last week. He was born in Wister, November 21, 1892 and lived most of his life in the McAlester vicinity. Williams was a member of the Baptist Church. As a veteran of World War I, he saw action in France and was wounded in the battle of the Arogonne Forest. His late wife, Mrs. Mural Lee Phillips preceded him in death in 1921 at Galveston, Texas. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mural Ahrens, Decatur, Ala., four brothers, Tom, John D., Idus E. and Frank Williams; four sisters, Mrs. Pardena Brashears, Mrs. Davie Wilson, Mrs. Sarah Johnson, and Mrs. Dora Littleton.
