A New Zealand rugby representative. He played eight matches on New Zealand's first tour, to Australia in 1884. He was the son of Edward Braddon, the premier of Tasmania, and had gone to New Zealand on a Bank transfer. He remained in Sydney after the tour and played for NSW against the 1888 British tourists; became the NSW RFU President from 1916 to 1925; represented the State in rowing; and was prominent in State politics.
