Leola was born in Wheeler, Oregon and moved with her family to Reedley in the 1930's.

In 1941, she was married to Clifford "Slim" Aalto who was a prominent and innovative farmer in the Reedley area.

They were active in the Fresno Yacht Club and members of the Sherwood Forest Golf Club.

Leola was an accomplished pianist, an avid painter, an excellent golfer and in the last few years, a model train enthusiast. She was very active in the Reedley Historical Society, the Friends of the Reedley Library, the Reedley Arts Council, the River City Theatre Company and the community of Reedley as a whole.

What she will always be remembered for is telling it like it is. If there was one person who could tell the unvarnished, unabashed truth, it was Leola.

Leola was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Aalto; her parents, Earl and Rachel Gee; and her brother, Melvin Gee.

Her family would like to express their thanks to the caregivers at Sierra Kings Hospital of Reedley for all that they did for Leola.

She is survived by her uncle, Ernest Wiebe of Reedley; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

By her express wishes, no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances may be made to Reedley River City Theatre Company, 1720 10th St., Reedley, CA 93654.
