Emily was a dedicated Girl Scout for 12 years. During those years, Emily cut the ribbon to open the Gloucester City Historical Society, helped clean the Gloucester City public parks, and aided with the annual Helping Hand Food Pantry Thanksgiving Food Drive. After graduating from senior scouting she became the leader of a Daisy troop for a year and a half.
In the year 2000, Emily received her Gold Award, the highest award for a Girl Scout to receive.
This was despite having suffered from Cerebral Palsy since birth. Emily was a special girl. Sometimes, the good do die young.

Dear daughter of the late Lisa Kotarski (nee Daisey) and John Kotarski. Dear sister of Jonathan Kotarski. Also survived by her aunts Karen Voorhees and her husband Fred of Ringoes, NJ, Meg Simila and her husband Bill and Kate Daisey both of Gloucester, her niece Athena, and cousins Jim Muscatell, Billy, Sean and Mia Simila. Emily served as a Leader for the Girls Scouts of Gloucester City. Memorial services will be held at a future date to be announced at a later time. The family would appreciate memorial donations in Emily's name be made to the Allicen-Cait Custodial Fund c/o Haddon Savings Bank 201 White Horse Pike, Haddon Heights, NJ 08035.
