LaMoyne "Andy" E. Anderson, age 86, of Woods Cross, Utah passed away January 18, 2016 at the VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City.

He was born April 25, 1929 in Price, Utah to Eugene and Rhea Anderson.

LaMoyne married Joyce Thomas in 1950 and had 3 children. They later divorced.

On October 9, 1970 he married Anna Cleo Shurtz. They were sealed in the Manti Temple on April 29, 1972.

Dad grew up in Price, having many adventures in his youth. At age 3 his dad put him on a horse and had him drag the fallen trees down the mountain to where the cabin was being built.

As a young boy he raised his beloved horse Tuke from a bottle. His love of horses lead to many injuries but also allowed his love to grow for his Mountain Homestead. Dad fulfilled a life of service to his country, church, community & family.

At the age of 15 he joined the U.S. Navy and sailed around the world many times supplying fuel to all the fleets on the waters.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, fulfilling callings in Young Mens, the Seventies & High Priests.

He loved doing genealogy and many on the other side are thanking him for his service. He was a temple worker at the Salt Lake Temple for over 25 years. He also served at the Bountiful Temple for 2 years.

He was a valiant member of the Bountiful Jeep Posse for 56 years. He served as Commander in the Bountiful Jeep Posse, State Search & Rescue and the National Search & Rescue. He also served many years as the National Search & Rescue Chaplain.

He served several years on the Woods Cross City Planning Commission.

Dad retired from Sperry Univac where he worked on many classified Government, Military & FAA communication systems. He was also very proficient in many areas of construction.

After his retirement he spent many springs at the Bountiful Livestock Sheep Ranch, where he raised the baby bummer lambs. He loved when the lambs would cry for him after they heard his voice and then follow him.

Dad's greatest joy and feelings of accomplishment came from his family. Whether it be camping, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling or swimming we shared lots of laughs and fun times with our dad, grandpa and friend.

Dad is survived by his sweetheart Cleo, his 3 children Kerry Anderson, Becky Anderson & Karalee (Michael) Brandt, his adopted son Scott (Janet) Anderson, his 5 step-children Don Shurtz, Keith Shurtz, Sheryl (Jon) Hunt, Susie (Rick) Earnshaw & CleAnn (Mark) Wilmot, 20 grandchildren & 16 great-grandchildren.

Interment Wellsville Cemetery.
