Mr. Melvyn C. Hopkins, age 74, of Cedartown, Ga., passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015. Mr. Hopkins was born on August 16, 1941 in Polk County, Georgia to his parents, the late Fred & Mae Dell Brumit Hopkins. He was a veteran, proudly serving with the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He attained the rank of naval Ensen during his deployment. Mr. Hopkins was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his son, Gregory Hopkins; his daughters, Ashley Hopkins and Lisa Baker; his sisters, Shirley Dutton and Evelyn Myers; six grandchildren, nieces & nephews also survive.

In accordance with his wishes Mr. Hopkins will be cremated.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, December 29, 2015 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home.

The family has respectfully requested that In Lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Honor of Mr. Hopkins to: The Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675, ph. 1-904-296-7350.
