Harper Sheppard Darden, 82, of Glen Allen, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009. He was preceded in death by Frances Tiller Darden, his wife of 51 years; and son, Lawrence Harper Darden. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa and her husband, Robert Taylor .
Mr Darden was born in Greenville, N.C., the son of the late Mildred Carr and William Allen Darden. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Infantry in the Americal Division, being awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge, and The Bronze Star for meritorious service during the Philippine Campaign. He received the U.D.C. Cross of Military Service.
