Arthur Charles Hare and Helen Howe were married at Calgary, Alberta in 1919.
Helen lived with her aunt, Lelia Mary Matheson Ross, in Calgary, for many years.

The engagement is announced of Helen, daughter of the late William Howe of Ottawa, grand daughter of the Very Rev. James Ross, D.D., late principal of the Dalhousie University, Halifax, N.S., and the late Hon. Joseph Howe, to Arthur C. Hare of Rathkeale Ranch, Alta., son of the late William R. Hare of Halifax, N.S.

HARE--March 13, Mrs. Helen Howe Hare, aged 91 years of 630 25 Ave. N.E. Mrs. Hare was born in Ottawa and spent some years in Dartmouth, N.S., before coming to Calgary in 1907. Her grandfather was the Hon. Joseph Howe of N.S. She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. D. (Helen) Murdoch, Calgary, and Mrs. W. (Elinor) Lunigal(?), Calgary; three stepsons, Terrence G. Hare of Detroit, Joseph M. Hare, Portland, Oregon, Richard A. Hare, Vancouver; two grandchildren, Mrs. T. (Judy) Ross, Vancouver and Ken of Calgary.
