18 years, 7 months, and 17 days. Estimated he might have been older.

Vinny was born 1997 and after four years he was placed in the Scott County Animal Shelter for adoption with the given name by previous parents as Frazier. After several weeks he caught the eye of Chris Masterson, and she decided he would complete the family circle. Vinny made his home with the family in January 2001. He needed some gentle coxing by Terry to use the litter box and before long he was a hard working member of the family. Vinny was a Working Cat who spent endless hours snoozing on the diving board or laying by the bar protecting the yard from those bunny rabbit holes in the ground or messy birds around the pool. Vinny received several family provided awards for his endless hours of service protecting the home. Vinny officially retired from his Working Cat status in December 2009 when Chance the Cat moved into the family home. Vinny loved to run in the rain. He even would jump into the shower with me he loved the rain drops. Vinny and Chance traveled to the Kitty Condos on North Brady Street for a nice vacation in 2011 so they would not be aggravated by home remodeling. Vinny was diagnosed with kidney failure and with the help of Melanie a Veterinary Technician who provided sub-Q fluids to Vinny twice weekly which gave us several more months to be with him. Vinny is survived by his brother Chance and his faithful servants Chris & John.
