She lived near or in Abilene, KS for 63 years before moving to Scranton, Kansas to be near her granddaughters. Doris attended country school, two years of high school in Chapman, KS, and graduated from Abilene High School.
She married John Cryderman on February 1, 1947, he preceded her in death.
Doris worked 16 years for and retired from Duckwall/Alco Office. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Abilene and attended Cross Road Community Church in Scranton. She was a member of United Methodist Women, KPL retirees and Cross Road Women. Doris enjoyed gardening, quilting, watching all sports and spending time with her granddaughters and great-grandsons.
Doris is survived by one brother, Carl Nemechek of Salina; a son, Charles Cryderman of Topeka; a daughter, Janet Woolverton (Richard) of Scranton; three granddaughters, Erin Butler (Clayton), Kristin Woolverton, and Chelsea Woolverton; two adored great-grandsons, Izik and Quentin Butler; sister-in-law, Phyllis Nemechek; and a plethora of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Bruce and Ernest Nemechek; and a sister, Anna Mae Marshbank.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Cross Road Community Church in Scranton, KS. Inurnment will be in the Abilene Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cross Road Community Church or the First United Methodist Church of Abilene and sent in care of Carey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 196, Burlingame, KS 66413.
