MRS. L.W. BOONE
Funeral services were held last Saturday at Asbury United Methodist Church for Mrs. Athol B. Boone, 77, wife of Lloyd W. Boone. She died Tuesday, September 26th, in University Hospital Baltimore after a long illness.
Services were conducted by Dr. Roy L. Tawes assisted by the Rev. Charles Hurlock pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church. Burial was in Asbury cemetery.
Mrs. Boone was born in Crisfield the daughter of the late William F. and Sallie Sterling Byrd.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter Mrs. Laurese Byrd Katen, Spring, Md.; one grandson, Larry Keith Pusey, Md., and a brother, Mr. Joshua Miles Byrd, Vienna, Va. She was also a sister of the late Dr. H. C. "Curley" Bryd.
Mrs. Boone was a retired Somerset County school teacher; a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church where she gave much of her time and talent to the W.S.C.S., and the Dorcas Circle, being past president of both groups.
