Edith Christine Hostetter passed away July 8. 2015. She was born in Iola, Kansas on January 7, 1930. She was married and sealed to Warren Glen Hostetter November 3, 1949 in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple.

She was preceded in death by her husband Warren, son Dan, Parents Leo and Helen Renner, her brothers Roger and Gordon, sisters Ina, Roberta and Anita.

She is survived by her brother, Perry and sister Donna. Edith is also survived by her children Barbara (Richard), Evelyn (Victor), Gary (Elise), Laurie (wife of Dan), Harman (Dianne) and John (Chris) and her 45 grandchildren.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had many callings including Primary President, Stake Missionary, Stake Primary Music Director, and In-service Leader. The calling she loved the most was serving full-time missions with her husband in Kentucky, Arizona, and Nevada.

She never knew a stranger and loved people. Taking pictures was her hobby, making several copies of each one to make sure you had a good one. Everyone that visited her left with an ice cream bar or something sweet.

Suffering from poor health for many years, this tiny woman we call Mom and Grandma peacefully slipped away under the care of Hospice at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs

There will be a viewing Monday, July 13th from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 14 at 11:00 A.M. at the La Jara Ward Building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a viewing at 10:00 A.M. with interment to follow at Sanford Cemetery.
