Lillian Agnes Alexie Born: November 23, 1936 in Nespelem, WA Passed away: July 1 2015 in Wellpinit, WA.
Lillian is survived by her five children, her grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, and three siblings.
Lillian was a proud member of the Spokane Tribe of Indians and was a social worker for the tribe for decades. She loved quilting, watching basketball games, and traveling the powwow circuit. She was powerful, beautiful, hilarious, and intelligent.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents Etta and James Cox, by her siblings Arnold Cox, Leonard Cox, and Virginia Bradshaw, and by her daughter Mary McCoy.
She will be laid to rest alongside her late husband, Sherman Alexie, Sr., at Sacred Heart Cemetary in Wellpinit, WA on July 7, 2015.
