Born in Danzig, Germany (Gdañsk (Danzig in German)), July 25, 1875, he came to South Bend 52 years ago from Jackson, Michigan. He married Apolonia Wroblewski Nov 7, 1897 in Terre Coupe, Indiana. He is a retired city fireman.

Surviving besides the widow are four daughters, Mrs. Clara Kielton, Mrs. Lottie Zebrowski, Mrs. Frances Lundberg, all of South Bend; and Mrs. Virginia Vivins, Fort Wayne, Indiana; a son, Mitchell, Three Oaks, Michigan; a sister, Mrs. Augusta Luczkwski and a brother, Frank, both of South Bend; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Friends may call at St. Joseph Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Wednesday in St. Adalbert's Catholic church with Rev Msgr. Ignatius J. Gapczynski, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Polish Cemetery. Mr. Walinski was a member of the Indiana Firemen's Association and St. John Evangelist Society 605, Polish Roman Catholic Union.
