World War Veteran Dead at Clearspring
Funeral services for Christian Payne, age 32, World War veteran of Clearspring, were held at the Clearspring church in charge of the Rev. T.J. Cummings, of Franklin, and the body was laid to rest in the Clearspring cemetery. Mr. Payne who was born near Clearspring and spent practically his entire life time in that neighborhood was taken ill three weeks ago. His death was attributed to a complication of diseases, Besides the widow, the deceased is survived by four small children, two brothers, and two sisters. He was engaged in farming and was well liked by neighbors and friends.
