Nancy Anderson Roberts, age 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2015. Nancy was a native of Albuquerque.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father, the late Senator Clinton P. Anderson and his wife, Henrietta, her husband, Ben L. Roberts and brother, Sherburne P. Anderson.
Nancy is survived by her children, Jim Roberts and his wife, Tracey, John Roberts and his wife, Patsy and Mary Roberts and her husband, Richard Waters. Nancy leaves behind five beautiful grandchildren, McKinnon and Cody Roberts, Caitlin Roberts, Alyson Carey and her husband, Beau, Rachelle Yates and her husband, Glen and four great-grandchildren.
Nancy was a graduate of Mount Vernon Seminary and George Washington University. Nancy was the 1946 Apple Blossom Queen in Virginia and the 1947 Cherry Blossom Queen in Washington D.C. Nancy belonged to the P.E.O. Chapter E, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Daughters of the Nile, Junior League of Albuquerque and Sustainers member of First Presbyterian Church. Nancy served on boards of Crippled Children Association, All Faiths Receiving Home, founding board of Sandia Preparatory School, Board of directors of the Clinton P. Anderson Agency and a member of the Tom L. Popejoy Society of University of New Mexico.
Nancy enjoyed the many years she lived on the family farm, walking her dogs and riding her horses. Nancy also enjoyed giving back to the community, among her favorites, Animal Humane, All Faiths Receiving Home and Albuquerque Community Foundation. Donations may be given to the charity of your choice.
The family, also wishes to thank the many caregivers that helped Nancy, especially April, Lisa, Leandra, Adrianna, Trever, Priscilla and Diane.
Heartfelt gratitude is extended to Evelyn Luján who, besides being a loyal and trusted friend, helped in so many area's of Nancy's care.
The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Strong-Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, Albuquerque. Private burial will take place after the service at Fairview Memorial Park, Albuquerque, NM.
