Suddenly at his home on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the age of 54. Brian loved to spend time with his family and will be greatly missed by his loving wife and best friend Sandra (nee Webster) of 31 years and his children Mike (Bryanna Melenhorst) and Christina (David Nilsson). Dearly loved son of the late Gerry and Luella Carey. Dear brother of Gary, Art (Pat), Margaret (Al Masters), Marie (Jack Armitage), the late Teresa (Ray Bonner), Paul (Linda Livings), Dave (Kathy), and Kevin (Donna). Brian will be sadly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Dear son-in-law of Sheila Webster and the late John Webster. Brother-in-law of Arthur Webster (Danette), Lynne (Merv Lewis), and Philip Webster (Marilynn). Brian loved to travel, was a classic car enthusiast and loved driving and restoring his Beaumont. He loved coaching and playing hockey and baseball, do-it-yourself projects on his home, and helping his family with their projects. Former volunteer Captain with the Otonabee South Monaghan Fire Dept. Brian had a great sense of humour and a contagious laugh. His favorite slogan, also his initials “Because We Can”. Friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to celebrate Brian’s life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Highland Park Funeral Centre. Interment Highland Park Cemetery with a reception to follow. In memory of Brian, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice.
