Marie Irene Jones, 100, of Jasper, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at her residence.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Fonzie Jones; daughters, Mildred Cordes and Peggy Gillespie; daughter-in-law, Billie Jane Jones; grandsons, Robert Jones and Brian Thomas; great-grandson, Josh Cordes; her parents, Harvey and Sarah Sellers Hodges; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children, Edwin Jones of Jasper, Alvin Jones and his wife Marlene of DeKalb, Ill., Sarah L. Thomas and her husband Howard of Warrior, Ken Jones of Villa Park, Ill., Milton Jones and his wife, Sandra, of Blountsville, Alice Miller and her husband, Robert, of DeKalb, Ill., and Sheila Carman and her husband, Dave, of Sylvania; son-in-law, William Cordes of Jasper; 29 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
