Clara B. Gilley, age 92 of Connersville, passed away at her home on Sunday February 1, 2015.

Born in Norton Virginia on September 20, 1922, she is the daughter of the late James Willard and Nancy Brickey Begley.

In Jonesville, Virginia, on November 27, 1941 she became the wife of Harry E. Gilley. Mr. Gilley died in 1990.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed word search puzzles, watching TV game shows and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Amvets, American Legion and the Women of the Moose.

She is survived by her children, Virginia Sue Kanyan and husband Joe of Fairfax, VA, Shelby Dixon and husband Weldon of Connersville, Betty Jo Gilley of Big Stone Gap, VA, Dana Parker-Gilley and her significant other Gary Bush of Connersville, James D. Gilley and wife Kris of Connersville and Steve Gilley and wife Amanda of Connersville; two brothers, Frank Begley of Kingsport, TN and Donald Begley of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Jessie Watkins of Johnson City, TN and Shirley Evans of Pennington Gap, VA; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband she is preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin Kenneth Begley, Clarence R. Begley and T.T. Begley; two sisters, Bobbie Begley and Billie David; and a granddaughter Buffy Jo Revalee.

Funeral services will be conducted at Urban Winkler Funeral Home on Thursday February 5, 2015 at 2:30 pm with Eric Hopkins officiating.

Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.
