Mrs. Elsie Abbott, 28, of Catasauqua, wife of Ray E. P. Abbott of 723 Second Street, that town, died yesterday in Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown.

Born in Bethlehem, Aug. 25, 1914, she was a daughter of John and the late Carrie Erdman Bersch, Bethlehem. She was educated in Bethlehem Schools. The Abbott Family moved to Catasauqua three years ago.

Mrs. Abbott gave birth to a son in her home, June 29. A week later she developed pneumonia. Her death occurred just two years after that of her mother.

Besides her husband, an electronic technician and assistant sector warden of the Second Ward, Catasauqua, surviving her are three sons, William, Russell and John, the latter an infant three weeks old, and three daughters, Sandra L., Judith M. and Joan Anne, all at home; two brothers, Melvin Bertsch and Frederick Bersch, both of Bethlehem and a sister, Edna, wife of William Gould, Bethlehem.

Funeral services will be conducted from Salem Evangelical Reformed Church, Catasauqua of which she was a member Sunday at 2 pm. The Rev. Willard Kratz, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Bethlehem.
