DEARSTYNE, HAROLD P., SR. Harold P. Dearstyne, Sr. of Mahopac, NY passed away peacefully on October 22, 2005 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 10, 1911 to Paul and Amelia Dearstyne in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Harold was a Station Operator for Con Edison and then completed his 47 year career at Indian Point, retiring in 1973. He contributed his retirement years to Saint John's parish as Sacristan, usher and in many other ways. He also worked at Cargain Funeral Home. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years Kathleen Dearstyne (nee Roscoe), loving sons H. Paul and his wife Barbara, Louis T. and his wife Lorraine and his precious daughter Kathleen Boniello and her husband Carmine. He will be deeply missed by his cherished grandchildren Donna and husband Albert, Louis and wife Martina, Christine and husband Nils, Carmine and wife Janet, Jennifer, Dainna and husband Austin, Phillip and wife Kathleen, David and girlfriend Katherine. Also, his treasured great-grandchildren Matthew, Trevor, Victoria, Meghan, Christopher, Harrison, Matthew and Alexander. He is also survived by his nieces Patty and husband John, and Beverly and husband Jerry. Harold is predeceased by his brother Edwin and his sister Catherine. Harold treated people with honesty and integrity and received great respect in return. He will be remembered for his selfless devotion to his family, Church and friends and for his kind, generous and gentle spirit. Visitation will be at Cargain Funeral Home on Route 6 in Mahopac, NY (845-628-5655) on Tuesday, October 25 from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac on Wednesday, October 26 at 9:45 am. Interment to follow at BallardBarrett Cemetery in Mahopac Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. John's Food Pantry or to Hospice Care of Westchester/Putnam, 100 South Bedford Road, Suite 340, Mt. Kisco, NY 10549.
