Reverend James Avery “Jim” Henry, age 87, of Sweetwater, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 26, 2015. He is a retired employee of Vestal Manufacturing and a well-known Baptist minister in the area. Preceded in death by his wife, Willie Sue Summitt Henry; parents, Clarence “CC” and Dora Schneider Henry; brother, Hubert “Tub” Henry; brothers-in-law, Charlie Summitt, Joe Summitt, Dee Summitt, and Kenny Summitt; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Minona Clemmer Summitt. Survivors include his son, James Douglas Henry of Sweetwater, Tennessee; daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Ralph Moore of Ten Mile, Tennessee, Mary and Andy Pope of Smyrna, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jenifer and James Weil of Ten Mile, Tennessee, Paul and Heather Henry of Sweetwater, Tennessee, Chris Moore and fiancée Christy Eble of Ten Mile, Tennessee, Dwight and Kelly Moore of Cleveland, Tennessee; brother and sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Joe Brannon of Riceville, Tennessee, Bobby and Linda Summitt of Madisonville, Tennessee, Martha Summitt of Madisonville, Tennessee, Roy and Joyce Summitt of Vonore, Tennessee, Betty Summitt of Madisonville, Tennessee, Wanda Lovingood of Madisonville, Tennessee, James Summitt of Knox County, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Frank, Dakota Moore, Kandice Henry, Abigail Henry, Joseph Henry; special friends, Elsie Humphreys, Cathrine Walker, and Zena Clark, and all of the True Gospel Baptist Church family; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 30, 2015 at True Gospel Baptist Church in Sweetwater from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM with the funeral service to follow with Pastor Sam Loy officiating. Interment to follow in the Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park. Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, Tennessee in charge of arrangements.
