Mr. Adams died after a 2 1/2-year battle with cancer in his home surrounded by family.

Mr. Adams was born in Dover, son of Katherine Stackhouse of Hartly and the late Joseph R. Adams. He graduated from Dover High School in 1984.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1984 until 1992, and served in Nürnberg, Germany, Uyongba, Korea and in the 24th Infantry Division during Operation Desert Storm in Iraq and Kuwait in 1991. He was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant.

Upon returning home from the service, Mr. Adams was employed with BCP in Smyrna as an auto technician from 1992 until 2004.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Smyrna, the Central Delaware Mustang Association and the Del Rods Car Club.

Mr. Adams was an avid Nascar and Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan, and truly enjoyed working on cars and spending time with family and friends.
