Presidential Cabinet Secretary. He served as US Attorney General under President Richard Nixon. He resigned amid the Watergate scandal and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor of testifying falsely before a Senate panel investigating the administration's relationship with International Telephone and Telegraph. He received a 30-day suspended sentence. In 1985 he was author of the book "Justice: The Memoirs of Attorney General Richard Kleindienst".
