Beckton-Dr. N. P. Allen and wife attended the funeral of Mrs. Sallie Edmunds, wife of John C. Edmunds, who died at Beechhurst Sanitarium, near Louisville, on the 17th inst. Mrs. Edmunds had been a patient at the sanitarium nearly four months previous to her death. Walter R. Edmunds, of Texas, son of Mrs. Edmunds, reached here in time for the funeral, which occurred June 18.
Sarah "Sallie" Agnes Waller Edmunds was born in Barren County, Kentucky, the daughter of Sarah Ann Johnston and William Edmund Waller.
On 21 Feb 1878, she married John Curd Edmunds in Barren County at the home of her parents. They had 5 children: Walter Roger, James Buford, Leonard Matthews, Agnes Mary and Flora Laura.
