Charles Dale Pugh, 57, a longtime area resident passed away at Freeman Health Systems in Joplin, Missouri on Thursday, December 12, 2014. He was born on May 16, 1957 in Joplin, Missouri to Delmar Dale and Mary (Harry) Pugh.

He graduated with the Miami High School class of 1975. He married the love of his life Rhonda Sue Newkirk on January 1, 1977 at the Narcissa Baptist Church. He graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College with his Associate Degree in 1977 and then studied pastoral studies at Oklahoma Baptist University. He worked as a Chemical Lab Technician for Eagle Picher and Allco Chemical and pastored local churches from 1981 to 2007.

He and Rhonda were members of First Baptist Church in Miami; Wyandotte Lions Club, Den Master for Boy Scouts. He was a Green Bay Packers Fan and a Saint Louis Cardinals fan. He loved to fish and he made his own lures, tied his own fly’s and jigs. He was even know to wrap his own rods. Mr. Pugh was preceded in passing by his granddaughter Gracie Marie Pugh.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-seven years Rhonda Pugh of the home, his children Kyle Pugh and his wife Jennifer and Chris Pugh of Miami, his grandchildren Clayton Pugh, Jarrett Pugh, Kai Anderson and Karissa Anderson, his parents Delmar and Mary Pugh Miami, a brother Brad Pugh and his wife Kristi of the St. Louis, Missouri area, a sister Julie Mustain and her husband Rex of Overland Park, Kansas, his father and mother in law, Cloyce and Barbara Newkirk of Miami, his brother in law Michael Newkirk of Guymon, Oklahoma and sister in law Lisa Burrows and her husband Gary of Miami, other survivors would include his nieces nephews and many friends.

Services for Charles will be 2:00 PM, Monday, December 15, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Miami with Reverend Rick Longcrier officiating. Interment will follow at the Williams Timberhill Cemetery in Welch.
