JONES, Mary Ellen Age 78, of Dayton; beloved mother, grandmother and great- grandmother; was received by our Lord on Tuesday, April 11, 2006. She was a native of Campbellsville, KY and resided in Dayton many yrs. She was an alumnus of Kentucky State University, a retiree with the V. A. Medical Center with 32 yrs. of service, an active member of the Deborah Chapter #19 OES-PHA, Golden Circle and Burning Bush, societies of the Eastern Star. She was also a devoted parishioner of Saint Margaret's Episcopal Church and organizer of the church's Food Pantry. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ada R. Cowherd and father, Earnest Diggs. She leaves to cherish her memory; (2) sons and daughters-in-law, Nathan (Kaye) Bailey of Centerville, VA and Darrell (Deborah) Bailey; (2) daughters, Henrietta (Chester Love) Jones and Ada Renee Jones, all of Dayton; (7) grandchildren, (8) great grandchildren; special cousin, Helen Wilson of Louisville, KY and a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends, Perry and Dorothy Luten, Robert and Ruth Dunson, Mr. & Mrs. Lee Hayes, Thelma Boyd and Janet Dunson. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, 5301 Free Pike, with Father Benjamin Speare-Hardy II, officiating. Viewing 4-8 P.M. Monday, April 17, 2006; the family will receive friends 6-8 P.M.; Masonic service 6:30 P.M., at the CHURCH. Interment, West Memory Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to THOMAS FUNERAL HOME, 4520 Salem Ave.
