Henry was a pioneer settler and co- operator of Morse sawmill, a son of Agur Morse. He was a member of Houston’s Bayou City Guards, 5th Texas Inf CSA, and lost an arm in battle in Virginia; his wife kept a Civil War diary of life on the Pleasant Bend Plantation. Infant child also buried at cemetery, 1861
