Professional Hockey Player. He first drew attention as an amateur with the Toronto Granites and Aura Lee teams before turning professional with the Toronto St. Pats in the 1923-24 season. He played sparingly with the team the following season and then settled into a minor-pro career in the Canadian-American League. Speyer played primarily in Niagara Falls (1926-28) and New Haven (1928-34) before earning a short return to the NHL in 1933 to 1934 with the New York Americans.
