Donna Vee Oberlin, 87, of Bryan, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Fountain Park Memory Care Center. Donna was born August 18, 1927, at home near Evansport, the daughter of the late Henry and Lestie (Sines) Shough. After graduation from high school, she graduated from the Fort Wayne Beauty Academy. Donna married Charles F. Oberlin on June 15, 1946 in Bryan, Ohio, and he survives. Over the subsequent 68 years, Donna gave birth to 10 children, raising eight to adulthood.

Donna was instrumental in the operation of the family business, Oberlin Processing, which began as a turkey breeding, hatching and dressing-the-whole-bird packing business that evolved into a poultry meat processing enterprise. She served as comptroller, until the age of 82, when the onset of dementia began. Donna was always a farmer's wife, whether managing the hatchery, raising vegetables or caring for livestock.

She was honored by the city of Bryan as Mother of the Year in 1969. She was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Methodist Women United, served as the church librarian, played the carillon bell tower and was a long standing member of the Bell Choir. She was a lifelong member of the Pulaski Garden Club and always enjoyed the beauty of her flowers. Donna was active with Jazzercise until the age of 80.

Surviving is her husband, Charles, of Bryan; eight children, Donald (Marsha) Oberlin of Antwerp, Deloy (Kate) Oberlin of Newton, North Carolina, Stanley (Mary) Oberlin of Bryan, Gary Ean St. Claire Oberlin of Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, Jane Oberlin of Bryan, Neil (Bonnie) Oberlin of Stryker, Chris (Brenda) Oberlin of Bryan and Scott (Amy) Oberlin of Stryker; 15 grandchildren, Gabe Oberlin, Cory Oberlin, Matthew Oberlin, Brandon Oberlin, Nicholas Oberlin, Kiera St. Claire, Breanna (Steve) Oberlin-Leszkai, Travis (Angela) Oberlin, Wesley St. Claire, Brent Oberlin, Ryan Oberlin, Amanda Oberlin, Addison Oberlin, Grace Oberlin and Henry Oberlin; two great-grandchildren, Heather and Katie Oberlin; one sister, Wilda Mae Hawkins of Clinton, Michigan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Timothy and infant John Oberlin; two grandchildren, Benjamin Oberlin and Jessica Oberlin; two brothers, Richard and Delbert Shough; and one sister, Mildred Partee.
